Facilitating Groups

COURSE DATES

Thursday 11 June 9.00am to 5.00pm

LOCATION

St Peter Port, Guernsey

A practical workshop for anyone who brings people together.

If you lead or contribute to group settings at work, then this workshop is for you. You’ll learn how to facilitate better conversations and create environments where everyone can participate, and grow your confidence when facilitating groups.

Meetings, focus groups, team sessions, project meet ups – the quality of how groups are facilitated has a direct effect on what gets decided, what gets done and how people feel about being part of it.  This workshop will give you the skills to make the purpose of gatherings count.

What this workshop is about

Facilitating groups well is one of the most underrated business skills. Poor facilitation is costly in wasted time, confused content, missed perspectives and decisions that get lost.   Great facilitation enables diverse ideas to come to the table, clear decisions, shared learning and teams that feel genuinely heard.

This workshop develops your capability to lead group conversations with confidence, building the kind of engagement where people contribute freely, think creatively and feel included.

One distinctive element of this learning is that you’ll gain insight into your own natural style as a facilitator and, crucially, how to flex that style to connect with people who think and communicate differently to you.  This is the foundation of genuine inclusion and group engagement.

What you’ll learn

This foundational programme is delivered over one day and covers the core skills people need when leading group conversations.

Core topics:
  • Your role as a facilitator and the purpose of group facilitation
