Build confidence. Shape conversations. Create agreements that work.
Negotiation is not only for sales or specialist roles. It is part of everyday leadership. We negotiate, and renegotiate, more often that we realise. We negotiate priorities, workloads, expectations, transactions, agreements and next steps. Because of this, learning simple negotiation skills makes daily conversations easier and more effective.
This course will help you approach these conversations with more awareness. As a result, your discussions will feel more human and the outcomes feel more fair.
This course is ideal for people who:
- Lead and manage and want greater confidence in how to reach agreements with different types of people
- Want simple tools to prepare, plan and structure negotiation conversations
- Need to navigate competing priorities, expectations or interests
- Want to strengthen relationships while achieving better outcomes
- Have some experience of negotiation but no formal training
- Want to feel more composed and capable in challenging conversations
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the day, you will be able to:
- Prepare and plan effectively for negotiation
- Use communication approaches that create clarity and support constructive dialogue
- Build rapport and demonstrate empathy, even when perspectives differ
- Apply core principles from the psychology of negotiation to influence, understand and respond to behaviour
- Use problem-solving approaches to move conversations forward and find mutually beneficial solutions

- Navigate difficult moments with composure, curiosity and confidence
What to Expect
This is a practical and interactive workshop. You will learn through reflection, discussion, application, observation, experimentation and guided practice. You can expect real conversations, supportive feedback and tools you can use straight away.
This course is:
- Formatted as a one-day workshop with optional follow-up coaching to help participants embed skills into action
- The group size will be small enough for personal attention and large enough for diverse perspectives and experiences to be shared
- Priced to include all materials, refreshments and a light lunch
This course is designed and delivered by Emma, a certified commercial and employment mediator and leadership coach who has been facilitating conflict resolution scenarios for over 10 years. Because of this experience, the course blends behavioural insights, practical tools and offers a warm, relaxed environment to support great learning.
If you want to lead negotiations in a way that builds trust and strengthens relationships, this course will show you how.
